Been a very busy day. Yesterday I finished packing up the office and condensing it down to just 3 or 4 totes. Today it was the living room. Not near as much, but lots more breakables. Had to of course wrap everything.

The house is starting to look bare, but its also getting us more motivated and ready for school to start. We both of course have lots of concerns about getting rid of everything and living minimally, but I'm positive that we both will make it.

Tonight is Hell's Kitchen! Two hours of Chef Ramsey!!!

Finished enrollment for school yesterday. We start October 4th at 7am. Found homes for the cats as well. Now to finish packing up the stuff we plan on keeping and getting it ready for storage then we can see what else we have left to get rid of.

It will be a very busy week because we have people coming for the weekend as well. Have a zoo trip planned for Saturday. Sometime in the mix I have to get Trish updated and teach her how to use a blog.

Yesterday was a good day. Made a couple hundred at the garage sale. It was a very long day and very humid. Today would have been a better day to hold it since it is very nice outside now.

Going to the school tomorrow to finish our enrollment and then we start a week later. I have a feeling tomorrow will be busy as well. Tonight, just going to chill and relax.

Saturday, September 25, 2010

Today is the garage sale and I can officially say what we are doing since Trish's boss knows now. We are going to truck driving school and becoming team truckers. It's going to be a lot of fun. We are getting rid of pretty much everything so we have to worries here and only have to worry about the stuff on us and minimum bills.

Friday, September 24, 2010

Today's going to be a very very busy day. Moving all our stuff to my sisters house for the garage sale tomorrow. I figure it will take probably about 4 or 5 trips LOL.

I know my blogs of been short and have very little info in them right now. Too many things are going on in my life and I would love to talk about it, but am unable to until next weekend. We are not certain people to know until then, so for those who are reading this, have patience and you will find out next Saturday.

Have a day of running around ahead of us. Going to the bank, Wal-Mart, and a few other places. We have a chance of rain today, tomorrow, and Saturday so I hope that we can get our errands done before it starts.

After our errands, it will be back to the grind on getting prepared for the garage sale on Saturday. Still have lots of things to go through and price.

Wednesday, September 22, 2010

Having a garage sale this weekend, well, my sister is and we are taking most of our "JUNK" over there to sell. So that means that today and tomorrow I will be gathering up everything and pricing it. Friday will be a day when I start taking everything over there. At least I'm not taking over furniture.

I will also be helping Trish make up her very own blog site this way the family will be able to keep up with what not only I'm doing, but what she will be doing while. It will be fun to keep up with that and see what's on her mind.

Watched Glee last night and it was fantastic. It's going to be a very good season. I'm so glad that HULU.COM has it on there as well so we can watch the entire season while we are away.

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

Long day. Been running most of the afternoon. Finally got home and had some things to take care of around the house and now to fix dinner, which I already basically have done since I've had a pot of beans on since last night.

Glee starts again tonight. Season 2.

Our plans are well under way. I don't want to say much on here because I don't want to jinx us or anything, but we are very excited.

It will be a very rough few weeks for us. Have a million things to get taken care of and accomplished. Time to start making lists.

Saturday, September 18, 2010

Allergies. Nothing more can be said. I just wish it would hurry up and rain to wash away all the pollen and tree spores away, then I only have to deal with mold from the water.

Thursday, September 16, 2010

Yesterday I received an invite to the OWFI writing contests. I'm excited. Of course I will need to renew my membership around November and start working on the stories (now) that I want to submit. There are several "categories" that I'm interested in and already have a few ideas on which stories to rework and submit.

I have lots of plans for the next few weeks and will probably on be blogging on the weekends since I will be very very busy.

The sun is shinning and it's going to be a good day. You just have to be positive about it and it will happen. Like the old saying, "When life throws you lemons, make lemonade." I'm a firm believer on this. There is always a silver lining. When one door shuts, another opens.

You may not feel like that when the situation arises, but in your heart you must remain positive and a positive outcome will arise from the situation. The glass is ALWAYS half full.

Trish's birthday is today. The wonderful 40.

Lot's of emotions just with that number. I'm glad that it was just another day in my life. I didn't even worry about it except finding gray hair in places there shouldn't be any.

But for some, it's a horrible day. When other's go out of their way to make it even worse, well, those people should be hung up to dry. Even though they are family, what they don't realize is you can actually cut them out like a cancer. I have with some of mine and feel better about myself and it has made my life better for it.

It was hard, but sometimes you don't need their negativity in your life.

Now that the 24 hour contest is over, Ashley is back home in Arkansas, and I have gotten some much needed sleep, it's back to the grind on my novel.

I feel it's coming along prett well. I'm revamping (no not a vampire novel,) the characters and fleshing them out more and more. Today I'm going to be working on my bad guy.

New Story...

I have posted my lates story. It's not "normal" for me, but its outside the box for the contest I just entered. Hope you enjoy it. I'm going to bed now.

Saturday, September 11, 2010

The 24 Hour Writing Contest is today. Starts at noon. Been looking forward to this one. Hopefully it will be a good topic and word count for something nice and creepy.

Arrived home with Ashley last night around 8:15 PM. Was very tired. Had a few things to do and then crashed and burned. Lots to do today as well.

I never thought I would need to use the Bible as reference material for my novel, but when your dealing with creation, what better reference material is there.

Friday, September 10, 2010

The weekend is almost here. Saturday is the Fall 24 Hour Writing contest. I do hope its a decent word length and topic.

Later today I will be going to pick up Ashley for the weekend. I will also be meeting Jon for the first time. Trish is nervous about us meeting, but I have assured her that there is nothing to worry about. I have nothing against him and he has nothing against me. No reason we can't be friends, like we are on Facebook.

I know I won't get much chance to blog over the weekend with everything going on, we are celebrating Trish's birthday this weekend while everyone is free and she has to work on Tuesday. I sure hope my lasagna turns out since its the first time I've made one from scratch.

Thursday, September 9, 2010

Had some fun with my iPhone and learned how to blog via email. Idon't like the way it does pictures though, so I will only send text that way.

Internet and cable are back up and running. I can continue my research for my book.

Wednesday, September 8, 2010

Another day is ahead of us. Its raining this morning and they are saying that we should be getting rain through today and tomorrow. Its the remainder of some tropical storm.

I love the rain. Its all gloomy outside and I get some of my best writing done when its like this. Since the mood of my book is gloomy it helps to be in that state of mind when I'm writing. I may have to think about painting the windows dark or something to induce that type of mood all the time. The walls of my office are already a dark color. This is why I like to write at night.

May have to think about moving to Seattle or something where there is constant rain.

The results are in on the 24 Hour Writing Contest. I didn't win or place. The winning story was very good. They wrote from the point of view of the jeans. Defiantly out of the box which is what they are looking for.

I'm already gearing up for this Saturday when the Fall contest starts. If anyone who reads this is interested, you can sign up and give it a try at www.writersweekly.com. I'm sure you will have a blast.

You can read my entry under the tab marked "Awakening."

Found 10 rolls of film back after mom died and just threw them in a box. After getting things out of storage and starting to go threw them, we came across them again. This time Trish convinced me to take them down and get them developed.

I knew what two of them contained, River Trips. The others I didn't know and brought back some memories that I had suppressed, both good and bad. It's funny how a single picture can trigger feelings you though you had left behind. I guess its the same way with smells. I know I can still smell my grandmother, even though she's been gone for ten years.

Needless to say, I haven't gotten much done now that I've gotten the pictures. I went on and started painting the bathroom prior to getting a call that they were in, but now I'm just BLAH. I am going to watch a movie or something later, hopefully it will snap me out of this blue mood and let me get on with life and living in the present instead of the past and what could have been's.
Labor Day is upon us. For all the people who work at home, its just another day at the office. For those who go out to work, of course it depends on your line of work if you have the day off. I say its a 50/50 split there.

I am going to have to reconsider where I start in my book. I think one of the things I have been having trouble with is the opening. It's good, but not fantastic. It makes the rest of the story kinda blah. It really has nothing to do with the rest of this book, but has a few things in the sequels. I will keep it, but rework it a bit to fit more into the middle of the book to tie into the others, but as an opening in the first book of the series, it will have to go to the wayside.

I really think that since I've been writing more and more, that the characters are the ones who are telling me this. They are balking at the choices and chores I'm giving them and rebelling. I have even started dreaming of the book and being meshed into it along with the characters. In my opinion, this is a good situation. It's my subconscious trying to get me more involved with it and move it towards completion.

Our day of painting turned into a day of repairs. While removing the wall paper in the bathroom and preparing it to be painted, the dry wall felt wet. Upon closer inspection it was beyond wet and had been that way awhile.

Took most of the day, but we finally got the leak fixed and the mildew cleaned up to the best we can. Have a fan drying it out currently and I will tackle it some more in the morning.

As for the bathroom, well it's going to look good when it's finished. We took the mirrors off the wall around the tub with minor injuries to myself. I probably could have used a couple of stitches, but I just taped it up and it's fine. Stings a little when I was my hands or use sanitizer, but I can still type and only have a band aid on it now.

All in all, a good day.

Saturday, September 4, 2010

I hope everyone has a nice quiet weekend. I'm going to try and get a lot accomplished this weekend so I can spend next weekend working on the 24 Hour Short Story contest. It will be their Halloween edition so I'm hoping that it's something up my alley.

Speaking of the 24 Hour contest, I should hear back soon on the last one. They usually announce the winners the weekend prior to the actual contest.

Storms blew through the state last night with gust well over 50 MPH. North Oklahoma City was hit pretty hard and lots of people are without power. Thank God, it blew itself out before hitting us here in Noble. We still had pretty high winds and lots of rain, but nothing like the city did.

It's going to be a muggy day. Have some errands to run this afternoon or tomorrow depends on the mail.

Thursday, September 2, 2010

As you can see, I have added Twitter to my blog. This will enable everyone to keep up with what I'm doing when I'm not writing. Hope my rambles will make sense.

Just arrived home from doing a bit of shopping. Had to pick up Trish's Sleigh Bed. Those things are very hard to put together. I could have fitted it in my car instead of getting my brother-in-law's truck. Oh well, but it looks nice. I will put the pictures on Facebook later. The one I took with my phone isn't very good. Will get the good camera out later.

Final outline in the works. I have two month's to get the final draft done and sent off to Cherry. I just hope that all the notes I have been making over the past few months and chapter rewrites will be enough and that this will truly be my final draft.

Going to be a very busy couple of months with this part. I have set a goal to get this done before November so I can start my next book with NaNoWriMo which of course will be book 2 in the series.

To all my loved ones who read this, don't get upset if I seem to be hibernating in my office. I just have to get this completed. I will try and squeeze some down time in on a regular basis, but you know my mind will probably be twirling around my book so have patience. If you find me passed out at my desk, well, give me a nudge and pump me full of coffee and make me get back to work!
