Its terrible on how much pain a shoulder injury can be. While painting I aggravated my shoulder and now even walking seems to keep it aggravated. Aspirins just sometimes don't cut through the pain and I have to take an actual pain pill. I know now that I will NOT be doing much exercises involving my shoulder for awhile at the gym. Staying strictly with Tanning and Treadmills for awhile.

Trish is off today, so we will be doing a lot of our running around and goofing off. She is wanting to get the bathroom started as for painting, but I think we should just take a few days off (especially her since she has split days off and has been doing so much the past few weeks.) As for the painting, time is on our side since it's our place and we are really in no hurry to get things done. Yes, it would be nice to have it all completed, but there is really no reason to push yourself and stress over something that should be fun while doing. We actually had a ball finishing Katie's room and the office together, so we should wait for a nice day to open all the windows and blare some music.

Never thought that I would miss a home phone. To be honest, not much call for them anymore because 99% of everyone has cell phones and that is what everyone around here uses, but of course there is that 1% of the time you actually need a land line.

Faxes.

I know most people now use e-mail to receive files and such, but when you are applying for jobs a lot of the process is done via fax as well. When you don't have a land line its a pain in the ass to take your laptop down to either someones house or the papers to the library and have them fax it.

But, I of course have found a way around that without tampering with my iPhone. There is an APP called "filesanywhere" and of course their website is www.filesanywhere.com. It enables you to upload files that you want to share with people (any type) and has a function to allow email or fax both from their website and the iPhone. Pretty nifty. There are paid parts as well, but the basics are free which is all I or anyone really needs. I did a test fax to my sisters office and it came up with a 214 area code and I got a message that it sent successfully, yet it was not a fax machine I sent it to, so that could be a draw back, but hey, it's free and it works.

We almost have our house back together, but we will be tearing it up again next week. I wanted Trish to have a semblance of normality this weekend since she has been doing so much both at work and home for the past few weeks. Its time for her to relax some.

Starting Monday, I will be tearing up the master bath and repainting it and next weekend it will be the kitchen and living room then we will be done painting.

In the meantime, I have the weekend to get my office together and start in my writing again. It will be strange actually having an office for my writing, but I am like Trish, I feel I will be able to accomplish so much in here on my novel and get it off to Cherry. I've already started a system for notes posted to the wall and such.

Everything has been moved out of storage. Now we just have to go through all the boxes and see what we are going to keep and what will be trashed. I have a strange feeling that I'm going to be trashing quite a bit of stuff. At least that's what its looking like after the first four boxes.

So far the office is looking crowded, but once we go through some of the other boxes in the closet we will be able to move more stuff in there, plus the other items in there that will be going on the walls.

We got Katie's room finished yesterday and completely painted the old room. We are making it into my office. I'm excited that I can write in private and not have to worry about waking Trish up with my music or getting up and pacing the floor (which I do a lot.)

Going to be moving all our stuff out of storage this morning and piling it into the living room. We will go through it and see what we are giving my sister for her garage sale and what we are keeping and where we are going to put it.

I have a strange feeling its going to be a very long and exhausting day ahead. Need more COFFEE!!

My blood pressure is better this morning. Its hard to believe how physical labor can effect it so much. Last night before bed it was 131/81 which I'm happy because I hate taking those Clonadine pills.

Last night we also finished painting Katie's room and Trish did the bed and night stand. Today we will be doing the dresser and then moving everything into the room and starting on the office.

Since I have a strange writing schedule and wake up in the middle of the night to write, I think it will be easier to go in there and work so I don't feel like I'm going to wake Trish up in the middle of the night.

Its back to the grind of finding another job. I gave it a shot at Wal-Mart, but my health will not allow me to do the work. Last night my blood pressure was 210/155. Too dangerous for me doing all the lifting and hustling to get the job done. Looks like I'm a desk jockey and not a laborer.

I am going by the unemployment office this morning and getting all of that finished up. Since I worked less than 15 days at Wal-Mart it shouldn't count against anything and if it does, than it does. I will still have access to all the resources in finding another job I can do and in the meantime I will be working on my writing.

The weekends just don't seem to last very long. It's already time to go back to work. I have a feeling it's going to be a very long night.

I felt time slipping away the past few days. Being tired and redoing my sleep schedule was rough on my writing. I did accomplish some things on my novel, but I feel like the finished product is so far away. I really need to get into my characters heads and write more from their perspective, but the only drawback to that is, when I get into their heads, I sometimes take on their personalities and can act like them in many ways.

Sometimes it feels like I myself have multiple personalities warring inside my head, from all their voices telling me their stories. It's real hard to explain sometimes, but I know that other writers would understand perfectly. Sometimes they scream so much I get a headache...

Well, my Wednesday is officially over when most peoples Monday is just starting. It's going to take me a while to get use to the graveyard shift again and having days off during the week. I do like being able to get business done on my off time instead of having to run around and do it on lunch or try to gram everything in after work before places close.

We will adjust to the hours, it will just take a couple of weeks to get in sync.

Trish redid the bedroom and it looks great. She did it all on her 1 day off and I know that she is tired. Hopefully she will be able to get days off together this next week.

Katie starts school on Friday as well. Hope she can adjust to getting up that early for school.

Tonight is my Monday. It's going to take a while to get use to the graveyard shifts again, but I really think I'm going to enjoy doing the work. I have been able to think while at work and get some story idea's out while doing the stocking.

It sucks that I have to start out at the bottom of the totem pole again, but it's also nice not having to worry about all the other things at work. Right now I can go in and do my job and just go home. It's nice and I don't worry about work while I'm off.

We will not be moving after all. We crunched some numbers and yes, we could afford it, but it would be tight. Josh has decided to move back to Arkansas and we don't' want to have to struggle with anything. Where we are at now we know we can afford it, and yes it's only 200.00 more than what we are paying here currently, it will be tight with me changing jobs and everything. Just don't want to chance it. Like Trish said, "After we are in our jobs for a bit and if its open again we can go to the bank and get a loan and have cheaper payments." That is so true, because I don't know his interest rates, but the monthly payment there will be $797.00 per month and I know people who's paying that on a $150,000.00 home, not a trailer and 1 parcel of land.

Life is good though, we don't want to overextend ourselves. Trish is going to start painting this place in the next few days since we don't have to worry about coming up with another down payment and I'm getting checks from both places.

It's been a couple of day's since I have blogged. Been going to orientation and doing some tests. I think I'm going to have fun working at Wal-Mart. I need to sit down and plan out the jobs I will be interested in so I won't be stuck at an entry level position.

As for my writing, my novel is coming along just fine. I am using my Write or Die program and it's really keeping me motivated. In the past couple of day's I have not only reworked 4 chapters, but have written 3 complete new ones that tie several other chapters together. It also helps to have printed off pictures of people that I feel resemble my characters. It helps to be able to visualize them actually doing what I'm writing.

We are joining a gym today as well. With our hours being such a diversity, we are going to join one that has 24 hour access. They also have tanning, which I am thinking about doing some since I will be working nights and wont' be seeing the sun for awhile.

Friday, August 6, 2010

I just got a call from Wal-Mart. I start at 7am in the morning. I'm excited.

Last night I wrote three chapters. I have found a way to keep myself motivated. I have printed off pictures of different actors and actresses and have placed my book characters on them. Now when I'm writing, I can visualize them doing what I'm writing.

Today was a good day. Was called for an interview at Wal-Mart. I know some people will probably think it's not a good job, but if you think about it, it really is.

It's closer to home that what I was working, so I will be saving close to $200.00 per payday just by working there. The 10% off merchandise they give their employee's in itself will save us hundreds a month as much as we spend there, and that's not even talking about their benefits and stock options.

I will be able to move upwards in the company as well. I'm very happy about it. Just have to wait for them to get my background check back and my drug testing, which I know both are good.

As for my writing. Couldn't be better. I started using the Write or Die desktop edition again and forgot how well it kept me motivated during NaNoWriMo, so I'm using it all the time now. On average been doing close to 2000 words in an hour, just more spell check and such stuff.

The clean-up at the new place is going well. I can't believe how those people who lived there before us had lived in that kind of mess. All I can say is, "YUCK."

It took 2 1/2 hrs to clean the master bathroom and I'm still not done with it. Trish is doing the kitchen and that's even worse. There is even grime and grease on the walls EVERYWHERE.

Today will be day 2. I know it won't be as bad as yesterday since we did get all the trash and such out of there. Basically, today will be wipe everything down and go over what we did yesterday again.
