National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) officially starts tomorrow. I will be leaving shortly for the kick off party here in Norman.
There has been a lot of changes over the past few weeks, as you can tell I haven't had much time to blog.
I will still be doing the truck driving thing, but I will be attending a different school. Roadmasters wanted almost $7000.00 for their 3 week course not counting interest on the loan, but they were also unable to secure the loan for me even with a co-signer. I went to unemployment and checked with them about assistance with a grant and they advised me of another school they use called Central Tech up in Drumwright. It's only $2500.00 for a 4 week course and they provide housing for the students. MUCH MUCH CHEAPER and I feel the 4 weeks training is better as well. Needless to say, we went and got a loan ourselves for the $2500.00 and I will go talk with them on Tuesday.
Now, it's going to be a very crazy month of November.
This a place for me to share my stories with others. I write in a variety of genre, but mainly horror/suspence, with a bit of fantasy mixed in. After reading one of the stories below, please leave a comment and let me know you dropped by. So, pull up a chair, refill that coffee, and dive right in. You never know where a story will take you. Keep checking back, you just never know what you might find...
Below are links to some of my short stories. Be sure to join my followers so you can stay updated on the site. The stories will occasionally change.

NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) is officially fixing to kick off on November 1st. 50K words in 30 days. Going to be a very hectic month for me with school, work, and writing. I'm still going to give it a try and already have a brief synopsis up on the site. Looking forward to getting some writing done in all the midst of things going on. I seem to write better (in my opinion) under pressure.
Anyone who wants to check out NaNo, visit www.nanowrimo.com You can check it out there and even keep up on my word count, my user name is: jh12172

Been a few days since I last blogged. It's been a crazy week. Trish decided that being a trucker wouldn't be a good fit for her at this time and will be staying here while I am finishing school and hitting the road. I'm glad she decided that prior to finishing school and hitting the road. It's not for everyone and it's scary up there with all that power in your control. I think that is what scared her the most. I'm proud that she made the decision after she tried it.
I had to take a break from school myself and secure my financing. I should start back up this Wednesday and be back on tract.
Since Trish is not going, we will be keeping the trailer here in Noble, so it's now unpacking time. At least we don't have to worry about a storage unit.

The weekend has arrived. I thought it would never make it here. We have been busy at school all week. Both of us passed our CDL permit tests and yesterday we actually drove for the first time. It was scary and fun at the same time.
You really have to keep your nerves and emotions under control when you have that much tonnage under your control. I am looking forward to Monday, we will be starting to learn backing and continue on learning to shift. (I have to get my rhythm down for double clutching.)

Day one is complete in our journey to become truck drivers. We both passed our physicals. Mine was a barely passed. I have to go to my doctor and have him sign off on some stuff, but I passed. It took awhile for my nerves to relax and let my blood pressure come down, but in the end I even squeaked by on that.
They have changed the school up (effective Oct. 1.) It's no longer 4 days per week for 4 weeks. It's now 5 days per week, for 3 weeks. It's now a more intense training program, but I'm sure we will do just fine now that we know we passed everything.
Well, we have homework to do and then some rest.

The zoo trip today was very nice and relaxing. We went to Zorba's afterwards and had a wonderful lunch. This evening we had a roast for dinner and a nice cobbler for dessert. Now spending time with family who have come in from California.
I will be posting the pictures from the zoo trip onto facebook later tonight or tomorrow. I know every one's going to be tired tomorrow. I think we walked over 7 miles today.
