Things are going well in the writing world. I have been told to BLOG more LOL. Sometimes I get so busy with writing my book, I forget there are actually a couple of people who follow my blog.

I have to apologize for that. I get a one track mind when it comes to writing. Hell, I get that on anything I do, well for the most part that is.

I will try and keep updating as I'm going with my book. I may even start posting information about my characters. A couple of them are upset with me since I wrote them out of the beginning chapter. I keep reassuring them that they haven't been fired. They are still in the book, they just enter a few chapters later than they did and they still play good parts.

Yes, I argue with my characters.

Nothing like a relaxing weekend and you get to work and find out that nobody told you that you needed to get some work done over the weekend.

With the July 4th holiday approaching, settlement needs to be done by 5pm central. FUN FUN. I can do it, just going to be a crazy day.

I'm basically going to be waiting on Tulsa to complete their work for last week. I'm not sure why they wait until Monday's to enter everything from the previous week.

Think my opening is now figured out. Just have to finish re-writing it so I can move on.

Been messing around on Facebook games to kill the time at work and while taking breaks on writing. It's terrible that they can become so addictive, then they freeze up on you or won't load telling you that your flash player is out of date when you know it's perfectly fine.

Just too many people logging in at the same time I guess.

Been thinking a lot about my book the last couple of days. I have a strange feeling there is going to be a major revamp on it.

If it's Tuesday...

OK it's Tuesday again. Off to Tulsa I go. I have lots of things to think about this morning. I redid my outline and added to it. I am going at my book at a completely different angle. Switching some of the characters up as well.

It seems to flow this way. We shall see. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Reading through the muck and mire...

I have been going through all the stuff I have written so far and I have come to the conclusion that I am needing a new angle for it all.

Don't get me wrong, the story line is solid. It's just it feels lacking in a way. Mainly the opening. I think I'm giving way too much attention to this particular scene and it's because it should actually be later on in the storyline.

I am thinking I need a little more back story upfront. Who the main characters are. Then with each chapter slip in a little more of the plot and sub-plots.

The weekend is finally here...

It has been a very long week at work. We lost a major client which resulted in a major reduction of our drivers. About 40 people will be loosing their jobs. We are going to have to do some major re-routing for rest of them. This will affect all of the Oklahoma drivers.

I am really glad the weekend is upon us. Josh and Ashley will be gone, so it will just be me and Trish. I am looking forward to some alone time with her and some quality writing time as well. There is so much to do and such little time to get it done.

It's also Father's Day weekend. Since dad has passed away I really don't have to worry about that part, but of course have Trish's dad and step-dad now so she is trying to find out what they need.

Redesign...

As everyone who's been here before can tell, I just completed my redesign. I have been working a lot this past weekend. Not on my writing, but on family stuff. I am hoping that tonight I will be able to sit down and write for a bit.

We have finally gotten all of the major stuff accomplished for the house. Now just have to worry about every day stuff and my writing.

It's really strange and a lot of people don't understand it, but when you sit down to write, instead of actually writing, your mind goes through all the things that need to be done and won't let you write.

Hopefully, I can ease my mind some and get with it.

Time to organize...

Just finished printing off my book. Going to spend the weekend re-reading it and organizing the chapters. They are all over the place. I figured that this would be the best way to see where I'm at. What I'm missing. Just an overhaul I guess you would call it.

Ashley is with her dad and Trish's Mom will be with us a couple of days. Overall a quiet weekend ahead.

I have been sitting here letting my mind wander while doing my work. Lots of things have crossed my mind, yet nothing has really stuck in there.

It's a shame that this happens. You want to grasp an idea and work with it, but as you are reaching for it, it fades and vanishes as another thought takes its place. I use to have such a good memory and thinking cap for things, but with age, eh...what was I thinking?

New short story...

Got the results for the 24 hour writing contest back yesterday. I didn't win. Here is my entry. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it. I've already signed up for the Summer one (July 24th.)

Peaceful mornings...

I was exhausted yesterday when I got home. I actually took a nap (not of my choice) while I was writing. Then pretty much passed out on Trish last night while we were talking. And yes, we were just talking.

Feel much better this morning. Driving that much in this heat can get to ya pretty quick. I hope everyone has a great hump day! I am planning on it.

Heading to Tulsa

It's Tuesday, so I must be heading to Tulsa. Nothing much going on except the normal work stuff. Settlement, settlement, Settlement.

I will be working on my book while driving of course. Gotta love hand held recorders.

Trying to blog all day long...

I have been trying to blog all day and the site has been down. I didn't have a chance all weekend.

Speaking of the weekend. Had a great time. Did some writing of course. Trish don't think I'm writing enough, but I really am. Got up at 4am Sunday morning and wrote for 2 hours, then woke everyone up at 6:30 and headed to the zoo.

Had a great time. Might even enter the zoo's picture contest. Speaking of contests. Haven't heard anything back on mine yet.

It's Friday...

I am so glad this week is over. Even though it was a short one, it has seemed longer than normal. No air conditioner in my office has made it worse. I now have a fan I have swiped from the warehouse (just have to wait for the drivers to leave in the mornings.)

I have plans on writing most of the weekend. I may stop and take the family to the zoo on Sunday, which will be the cooler day of the weekend. We shall see. I really need to write, but the distraction could work in my favor too.

Just another rainy day...

Woke up to rain. Always a good start. The air pressure on my sinuses are crazy. It will be muggy this afternoon and my air conditioner is out in my office.

Got to get the rewrite to Chapter 1 complete tonight. I want it "tight," otherwise I will keep thinking about it and not get anything else done.

There is so much information you have to convey to a reader in the 1st chapter. The hook, line, and sinker. You have to give them a reason to turn the page and keep reading. Of course, you also have to be careful not to give them a sensory overload in chapter 1 as well.

Muse on vacation...

I have been sitting down trying to write several times over the past week. I think my Muse has taken a short vacation without me.

I actually fell asleep over the weekend writing. I was resting my head and the next thing I knew was Trish waking me up. I was curled up in a ball on the floor.

Hopefully, I will be able to concentrate tonight on writing.

Monday....I mean Tuesday Morning...

The weekend is behind us. Everyone is home. Ashley is officially home. Josh injured his knee while in Arkansas, I think he just twisted it.

I didn't get much writing done, didn't think I would. Got a little ravishing done, not a whole lot. We both were tired.

Dani's graduation was great. She looked like she was having a ball at the party, but she also looked as tired as we felt. I think the heat zapped us more than we thought that day. It has taken us the rest of the weekend to recover.

I'm off to Tulsa today. At least it's a short week. Already looking forward to this coming weekend. This one I will be writing.
